Less Time In-world

I've spent a lot less time in-world since I posted that awards idea. I don't know how it would pan out and with the millions of people now in-world, it would end up being a full time job.
Alas, I think it best that the Rezzy was temp on rez and went the way of the Dodo. I thought it was a good idea, but sadly since I've been away, I have no free time to devote to it's inception.

I think I have a name..

I've been thinking all night about a name for the award. Something that is exclusively Second Life. Something - a word that only we use and it hit me. Rez. So I think the award should be called a "REZZY" The next step is to name the show. "BOSLA" - Best of Second Life Award?
I'll think on it and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The First Annual Second Life Awards

I had a vision a few months ago and want to now share it with whom ever is willing to read about it.
It's the Second Life Awards. I'm sure the name will change several times before the event - if one comes, but here's what I envisioned.
An awards show, much like the Oscars, or Grammy's. Awards given to the best of; in Second Life.

Put out a ballot with nominations like:
  • The Best Club.
  • The Best Linden.
  • The Best Mentor.
  • The Best Live Helper.
  • The Best Mens Clothing.
  • The Best Womens Clothing.
  • The Best Hair, etc.

Then have the residents vote. I can keep tabs on a spread sheet, creating the top 4 for each category and then invite them to the awards ceremony where the winner will get their SL Earth Award. (seen below / unfinished plaque) We can possibly get SL Celebrities to present the awards.

It's all in thinking stage right now and I'll have to see where I could hold such an award at. We would need the Red Carpet of course and devise rules of conduct for anyone who might happen to want to harass us during the ceremony.

Christmas Time

It's Christmas time at the 911 memorial. I changed the land and put down snow prims to simulate snow on the ground. I set up a Christmas tree and a Snowman and changed the trees to snow covered fir's. The green on the right is because my neighbor decided his / her land needed to be higher than the others, so they raised it. It hid my fence - which I had to find - and made it impossible to cover because of the slope of the land. Rude is as rude does. I looked at the owners profile and see they're newbies - relatively. They will learn. I sent them a message on how they ruined my memorial, but I doubt I'll get a response.

Samantha and Me

Please welcome to my Second Life a new pet. Her name is Samantha. She's a bronze dragon. Being Pagan, I like to look back at "Bewitched". My Hyooman, named his first truck Esmerelda. His second truck was named Endora and his current truck is name Hagatha. Since he plans on not having any more trucks, he asked that I name the dragon, Samantha. It is actually fitting for her too.

What a week

Well, my Hyooman finally finished moving. After 4 days of hauling things 20 feet. He had some good help from one of his friends.
I've not been inworld in a week, but that's ok. Sometimes a short respite is what is needed to clean the mind and soul, but I do miss my work on HI with the NC's.
My Hyooman is feeling a bit under the weather. They've had a climate change and it's been colder. Since he's not got fur like me, he thinks he may be coming down with a cold. One of those that linger.

The Million Mark

ONE MILLION! That's right, there are one million residents - although I would tend to believe less because some people just are not happy with what they started out with, so instead of just fixing and living with what they have, they create new accounts. We call them Alts. I call it the Alt Factor. In any case, here is the totals as of this writing.

Second Life Time: 10:14:22 AM
Total Residents: 1,005,088
Logged In Last 60 Days: 396,616
Online Now: 9,609
US$ Spent Last 24 Hrs: 421,719
